Ok, I’ll say it. Elopements are SEVERELY underrated. Everybody in my family has heard me say a thousand times that I will elope some day. Elopements can alleviate so much of the stress and anxiety (and $$$) that come with the big day. It isn’t for everybody, but man do I love elopements. So when Maddie and Tyler reached out to me about photographing their secret elopement that included just their families, I was overjoyed! They had decided that they couldn’t wait any longer to tie the knot after being together for over eight years.
I don’t entirely know what I was expecting, but my jaw hit the floor when Maddie walked into the church wearing the most stunning wool pantsuit that belonged to her great aunt. She also carried a vintage, beaded handbag that belonged to her grandmother. The short ceremony took place in Maddie’s family’s church and the first two rows of the pews held their closest family members. Maddie was also such a trooper because she had hurt her leg pretty badly, but she still managed to walk all the way down the aisle to Tyler with her dad and rock cute shoes at the same time.
After their ceremony we went to the downtown of the little beach town that they got married and ran around together taking photos. While we were on the main street cars were honking and cheering for the newly weds. The sunset at Maddie and Tyler’s favorite beachfront restaurant so stunning, the perfect finish to their day.
