Matt and Liv had planned a small elopement, but after a hard year decided they wanted to bring everybody together to celebrate. Their day started off getting ready with their friends separately, but sharing love notes with one another. Liv’s hair and makeup were breathtakingly crafted by Quintoria Simpson and Ali Powers Makeup (who actually ended up doing makeup for another bride named Olivia that I worked with last season).
These Michigan State University alumni joined each other on the bridge to Spartan Stadium for the sweetest first look and headed over to the Michigan State University Alumni Memorial Chapel. This is a gorgeous, old chapel on campus that is filled with stained glass windows, and built with stones from Westminster Abbey, Notre Dame, the Whitehouse, Palestine and and a synagogue in Capernaum to represent the interfaith values of the chapel.
The evening concluded at the Lansing Country Club with dinner, cake, dancing and a beautiful sunset. The venue was transformed with florals created by Lottie Floral and stunning design and coordination by White Flamingo Events (one of my favorite industry people to work with!). I’m so grateful for Matt & Liv’s trust, and all of the above photos were captured on film. Liv is currently running for Lansing City Council and I am so excited for the amazing connection and change she will bring to the community. They care immensely for communities that are often overlooked and will be strong leadership for social change. Liv is working to create a thriving, sustainable community where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. If I still lived in Lansing she would have my vote, but in the meantime they have my full support. For more information about Liv’s campaign head to their website.
