When Houda and Brandon’s inquiry showed up in my inbox I couldn’t contain my excitement. They had plans to marry surrounded by their family at their mosque. I was so excited because I had never had the opportunity to enter a mosque, let alone photographed a marriage ceremony in one. It was such an honor to learn the traditions of a muslim wedding ceremony and witness Houda and Brandon exchanging rings and voicing their commitment to each other in front of their loved ones.

Following their marriage, Houda, Brandon and I met up to take celebratory photos. Houda wore a stunning white suit with incredible Dior sling back pumps and a white hijab for the ceremony, while Brandon wore a sharp blue suit and tie. All day long it looked like it would storm and rain, and as soon as we reached our location it began. We decided to pivot our session to start indoors and the rain quickly let up for us, with the exception of a few sprinkles here and there. Houda and Brandon were an absolute dream to work with and together we created magical, editorial photos on 35mm film.
